Six New Drawings

Here's some artwork that I did today.
It's my goal to finish all of the chapter headings by the end of the week.
Many of the verses have spoken to me as I've been coloring them or the ones I've illustrated on my own. I am compiling a list of verses to memorize. Some of the verses didn't speak directly to me but were still enjoyable to work on.

This photo doesn't do justice to the page. the words "Ruth," "you go", "your", "my people" and "my God" are all done in a color called Copper Beeches which looks like a shiny copper penny. I just couldn't capture it with my camera phone. This design came in the Bible. You can find it on page 306.

Once again my phone couldn't quite get the colors right. The flowers are purple and bright orange and so are the words "Numbers, Bless, Protect, Smile and Gracious." I think an Irish Blessing is based on this verse...or is it Jewish? I don't know which.  the whole page as a light peach background. This design came in the Bible. Its on page 153.

This is a simple design on page 309. I made it out of fall colors since fall is my favorite season.

This design is on page 453. You can't tell but the header and the side column are colored in with silver so it's really shiny and pretty. I used teals and golds for all of the words.

Another beautiful piece on page 493. I especially like the scene at the bottom. The verse is a daily reminder to pray everyday and lift my problems to the Lord with a contrite heart. There's a song by the group Avalon called If My People Pray based on this verse. I put a link to the song on Youtube. It's in the title, if you'd care to listen to it. It's very beautiful.

Another design found on page 567. Once again a lot of time and color changes went into this one. It reminds me of a scene in the movie Gettysburg where a slave quoted this scripture to a Yankee soldier who was dying. If you haven't seen this movie it's definitely worth watching. Here's the trailer. It is a very patriotic movie. The prequel is called Gods and Generals
Esther is the last piece I did today.
