More New Art

It's 1:40 AM and I'm waiting for my hubby to come home from a gig. He's late and that always makes me a little nervous because of all of the intoxicated people on the road at this time of the night. So I've been seeking solace in the Word and doing some more drawings. I expect I'll do more later on today after a good night's sleep.

This design came in the Bible. It's on page 416. I used metallic gold on the chariot wheel so it's really shiny. The horses pulling the chariot were drawn with Copper Beech so they too are shiny and look the color of a new penny. I am disappointed that it didn't show up that well in the photo.

I like the mountain scene for this picture.
It came with the Bible which is on page 346. It didn't really show up in this photo but I put in a very light blue sky all the way up the column where the Scripture verse is.

I like this one (which I drew) because it is of a lighthouse and I'm very fond of them. I had an opportunity to drive the outer banks from North Carolina to Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia with a stay over on Okrakoke Island. It was a memory I will always treasure. This verse reminds me that while the Lord is the light of the world it's my privilege to have His light shine through me and I try to do that every day.

This is another colorful drawing that came in the Bible which can be found on page 755. Once again it took a lot of time and color changes but I love the pretty and cheerful look of it. The verse reminds me that the words I speak can cause a change or affect people so I need to be careful what I say.

I sketched this one myself using Derwent and Prang colored pencils.

Another one that I sketched using my colored pencils. It's a nice reminder of how the Lord blesses me everyday.

This is another sketch of mine. I like the tag and the violets because they remind me of an old-fashioned garden. The message reminds me that I have nothing to fear as long as I am right with the Lord.

I love the color palette that I used for this book. The ribbon at the top of the page was a lot of fun. Here's a closeup of the bar under Timothy's name.

This was one of the drawings that came in the Bible. It's on page 1431.

This drawing that I did required a lot of time, but I love the effect.

I'm pretty happy with this one except that I drew her head a little too big for her body and didn't realize it until I had used my Micron pen and drew it out. I like the message though.

This was one of the pages that came with the Bible, but the verse looked pretty plain so I added the flowers and vines. It's on page 1156.

This is another one I drew. I love hydrangeas and that's what the purple flowers are. The yellow ones are just something I threw in there to give a little contrast. I also like to add little bees with bee trails whenever I do floral drawings. They add a bit of whimsy to the picture.

This is a drawing that come in the book. It's on page 372. I love the picture at the bottom. The verse is a poignant reminder of who my life is secured with, who protects me from my troubles even though they may happen He is right beside me all the way.

Another drawing in the Bible (page 379) that I used my colored pencils on. I love the sunbeams shooting out from God's name. I don't know why but this piece made me thing of Egypt.

This is another beautiful drawing in the Bible (page 346) and the final one I did today.
